Tolerance: 84,000 Dhamma Doors

In Buddhist teaching Dhamma doors is a metaphor used to state that there are innumerable paths (84,000 doors) to enlightenment, to Truth.  This represents Buddha's tolerance for other religions and spiritual practices.
I post this on the eve of September 11th to remind myself that the antidote or "medicine" that would be most beneficial is tolerance.  We all have a Universal responsibility to embody tolerance in our daily lives and to remember there are many pathways to the Ultimate Truth.

A simple Path
May Peace Prevail on Earth

My friend, thank you for your thoughts and your compassionate remembrance of the crime that was 911. It is a crime that all of humanity has suffered for and continues to suffer for.

It is very difficult to accept that the intolerant will become tolerant when tolerance seems a temporary stressful state that is destined to eventually implode or expolde with potentially ruinous results absent the saving grace of a true and active compassion that recognizes and respects the sovereignty of all.

Two towers fell that day, many paid the ultimate price. Yet this I know; somewhere, somehow the two towers that were Mike Curtin and Joe Vigiano are standing tall and shining bright. To these my Sainted brothers I pray for the petition of all of heaven that we on earth may receive even a portion of the courage and determination made manifest in your lives, that we might learn to heal the land and make it known that neither you or we are the blood sacrifice of anyone.

If it be the will of the Creator let two on earth agree.

I think of all the compassion, courage and love that did prevail that day. Those who truly lived as heros and rushed in; co-workers who provided comfort and most likely prayed together and gave of themselves to the frightened and weak.
No words can describe these good acts.
"When a traveler at last comes home
from a far joureny
With what gladness
His family and friends receive him!
Even so shall your good deeds
Welcome you like friends
And with what rejoicing
When you pass from this life to the next!" Bodhi Svaha!

Friend, I am humbled by your postive spirit. It brings me to a more acute awareness of the level of my frustration with the matter, which I now release, and replace with prayer that All intolerance be transmuted by the saving grace of a spirit of true, and active compassion that provides healing for All.

Let two on earth agree.
